Associate Creative Director – Copywriter

Hothouse is looking for an Associate Creative Director – Copywriter with an interest in B2B who loves the craft and has the work to prove it. Our B2B client roster is strong and your strength in creating the vision for content that speaks to that business-minded audience is key. Content organization, strategic brand positioning, sales materials and tools, and explainer and interview-style videos are the primary outputs you’ll engage in along with the opportunity to flex into broadcast, out-of-home, social content and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and remain continuously curious about a wide range of topics and industries, including automotive, entertainment, hospitality, technology, healthcare, sustainability and beyond
  • Conduct research to quickly become a light subject-matter expert armed with enough information to write confidently about complex concepts
  • Own the creative vision for your accounts, understanding the client’s need and collaborating internally to produce compelling creative solutions to client challenges
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to junior creatives with a focus on fostering their development
  • Participate in new business pitches by concepting ideas, crafting decks and presenting to prospective clients
  • Support the VP, Group Creative Director and VP, Design Director in their efforts to elevate the agency’s creative output


  • 7+ years of copywriting experience, preferably at an agency, generating creative campaign concepts
  • Writing samples and/or portfolio required, including some B2B work
  • Passion for all things creative and a strong desire to learn and share industry best practices
  • Interest in and solid understanding of email, social media, video and other digital platforms
  • Ability to inspire and collaborate with creative team members
  • Polished presentation skills with demonstrated experience communicating a clear creative vision to clients
  • Skilled in delivering feedback in an honest, motivational, results-oriented manner
  • Ability to distill complex topics and concepts into consumer-friendly messaging
  • Comfortable writing long- and short-form content, strong headline writing a plus
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Capable of working on multiple projects, small or large, with various project leads
  • Solid argument either for or against the Oxford Comma
